Hello everyone this is Jordan. I just thought I would let you all in on how our day was. Today we got a lot of rest, seeing as we were so sleep deprived. Once we were all rested up, we all got ready to go do some site seeing. We decide that we would try to go to the market. We called for a driver and were on our way.
The ride to the market was very interesting. We soon found out, when people are driving, lanes mean nothing. they don't use them. All they do is honk their horns and drive wherever they please. We were all very surprised. Upon arriving at the market,we soon found that we were overwhelmed. There was so much going on around us, we didn't know where to begin.
The fist place we looked at was a place to buy art. The man that was trying to sell us a piece of art was very pleased to help us. After much deliberation, Joy picked out a piece that she liked. Next Jack and Joy decided they would like to buy Jansen some toy's from his homeland. They found a few cute things and we headed towards the purses. (Mine and Joy's idea!)We did not find a purse, but Jack and Joy found a valance that would go on the pack-n-play to make Jansen feel more comfortable.By this time we were ready to head back to the hotel.
While our driver went to get our car we waited on the side of the road. While we were standing there a young girl came up to us and was begging for money and food. We didn't know what to do. We wanted to give them money, but Joy was informed that giving the children money was not safe. When we got in the car I got very upset and started crying. I was so sad to think that we are so blessed to actually have food and a place to sleep while these people don't have anything. it made me feel extremely bad. When we got back to the hotel, Jack told us that right as we were getting in the car he handed the young girl some Indian rupees.
By this time we had arrived at our hotel. We are now getting ready for bed because we have o get up early to go to the Embassy. Tomorrow night we have our flight to Calcutta. We ask that you all will continue to keep us in your prayers.
Sincerely,
Jordan Powell

Wow--what an exciting trip so far! Can't wait to see your first pictures of my newest cousin! Enjoy every moment of this wonderful adventure! You all are in my thoughts and prayers...Love, Krista Herold
It looks like you are all having a great time! We are anxiously waiting to see pix of you holding Jansen. Keep up the good work on the postings; every time I read I cry. We will be praying for safety on your next flight; hope it goes well. Robbie says to say "HI". You all take care. Love and prayers.
Sounds like you're beginning to see the "bigger picture" of the world God died to save. I'm so excited for you and for what God is doing in your life! Just remember to stay focused on God and rely fully on Him. "Trust the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understand. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path."
I'm praying for you while you're away.
Your post brought it all right back to the surface. I had a hard time on the way to the children's home with a mom and a baby. Just wanted to acknowledge your feelings. I cannot wait to see Jansen in your arms! I think he taught Max how to use the phone.

What an exciting trip... such an exotic location, all the sights will make such a special memory when you finally get to hold Jansen in your arms, not just your hearts. I am thinking of you, especially, this week as I celebrate my gift from God and follow with you as you get to finally hold your son too. You are in our prayers. Love, Valerie
Glad to hear you made the long journey in one piece and are having an opportunity to discover the wonders of India. I hope the embassy day goes well and your trip to Calcutta goes without a hitch. Can't wait to hear more of your story and about Jansen!
Sounds like you both are enjoying your time in india. Rest now while you can. Yes, it does open your eyes at how blessed we are as americans when you visit a 3rd world country. Take lots of video and pictures. WE will be praying for you as you meet Jansen and hold him in your arms for the first time. We love you.... Lori, cub, kelsey and kailei

I'm sure that we won't take many things for granted anymore once we realize how blessed we truly are! Oh Jorday, missed you at VCA while we had Nerd Day.....You and your mama always brought such good laughs! You'll have to bring some good chuckles to your new cousin...
We love you and praying for all of you...Tanya, Dave, Taylor and Jackson
